1. Women's Bundesliga

Since 1970, the HSV women’s team has embodied the ‘Rauten’ tradition in women’s football. What began as a bold move at a time when women’s football was still virtually unknown has, over the decades, developed into a fixture in Hamburg and beyond. Early on, the HSV women’s team won regional titles, established themselves amongst the top teams in northern Germany and eventually made the leap to the big stage of the Bundesliga. With dedication, team spirit and a Hanseatic ethos, they promoted the HSV ethos in women’s football and shaped a successful era.

Following sporting highlights at national level, a deliberate fresh start was made in 2012. Rather than focusing on short-term successes, the HSV women prioritised sustainable development, structural growth and consistent youth development. Step by step, this gave rise to a team that once again ambitiously represents the club and has brought women’s football at HSV back to where it belongs: in the top echelons of competitive football. The history of the HSV women’s team is thus a story of courage, solidarity and the firm conviction that women’s football is an indispensable part of HSV – today and in the future.
